Job Title: Human Resources Officer.
Reports to: Human Resources Manager
Job Purpose: To help coordinate and facilitate the human resource department activities, functions and processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with business/functional line managers to recommend, develop, and execute human capital strategies to achieve business goals,
- Ensure escalated client/employee issues are resolved with urgency and deliver services with a process improvement mindset to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance to statutory requirements essential from both a regulatory and reputational perspective,
- Update HR databases (e.g. new hires, separations, annual leave and sick leave),
- Prepare paperwork for HR policies and procedures,
- Process employees’ requests and provide relevant information,
- Provide orientations for new employees and explaining company policies,
- Update the staff compliment data,
- Maintain and manage accurate and efficient filing system (physical and electronic files) of all employee files upholding high levels of confidentiality; updating the employee’s data bank, filing and keeping all employees’ documents in their respective files and opening files for new employees,
- Ensure all files are up to date as per the checklist,
- Maintain all leave records and updates to achieve a coordinated leave administration process. Responsible for absence management and updating of the leave tracker,
- Tracking, updating and management of statutory information for all staff – NHIF, NSSF, PIN, etc.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor and or management.
Requirements.
Level of Education, Professional Qualification and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or any other business-related course or its equivalent;
- Certificate of membership and a valid practicing license with the IHRM.
- At least three (3) years experience in a busy environment,
- Good oral and written communications skills;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Familiarity with Kenya labor laws;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadline;
- Flexible, motivated and ability to persistently complete tasks;
- Ability to operate in a dynamic environment and communicate with various levels of staff;
- Well organized and keen to detail;
- Person of high integrity and confidentiality;
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, and Outlook;
