Job Title: Electrician.
Reports to: Property Manager.
Job Purpose: The position of electrician consists of installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. The electrician will be carrying out corrective and preventive maintenance of the electrical system in the premises and facility which involves installations, maintaining, and repairs of electrical control systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation and maintenance of electrical wirings in the building,
- Collect company KPCL invoices before or on 24th of every month,
- Liaise with KPLC management to reconnect power once a tenant clears the bill,
- Repair or replace worn and faulty electrical parts including water pumps,
- Repair electrical wiring, circuits, and fixtures.
- Identify and requisition the required tools, equipment and materials needed for use
in electrical work, - Perform scheduled general maintenance service of generators after every three months,
- Perform scheduled general maintenance service of inverter machine or power back up after every two months,
- Install CCTV camera surveillance system,
- Report faulty electrical appliances for their requisition and replacement,
- Install electrical equipment, components, and systems,
- Change, repair and modify building electrical systems, wiring, fittings and appliances
to suit end user interests, - Inspecting all distribution boxes for safety,
- Analyze and formulate solutions for any electrical problem;
- Assess the electrical installations in new premises;
- Establish, maintain and ensure safe electrical systems for the facility and residences;
- Implement the preventive maintenance schedule;
- Install new generators, control panels and do diagnostics and repairs;
- Proactive in assessing future problems when visiting premises and intervene immediately when possible;
- Plan and install new power system from any given power point in the premises and offices;
- Propose energy saving solutions when possible;
- Respond to emergencies quickly as and when it arises.
- Trouble shooting and carry out electrical repairs on existing structures;
- Monitor the electric consumption and report irregularities;
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements.
Level of Education, Professional Qualification and Experience:
- Advanced diploma in electrical or electronics engineering, or any other related field;
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Electrician or similar position;
- Government Trade Test Certificate – electrical, with 5 years experience.
- Able to stand for long hours and be physically fit,
- Experience in electrical system installation, protection and earthing systems, maintenance, and repair of electrical installations;
- Experience in electrical household equipment such as generators, water pumps etc;
