Ken Nyakundi Mogaka

Chairman / Founder

A seasoned board-level executive, Mr. Mogaka has extensive training and experience in distributorship operations and management and has served as managing director in the Ouru Companies for over 20 years. Having founded the company, then an offshoot of Ouru Discount Center Ltd, he has been associated with the broader Ouru business group, which operates in retail and real estate development within western Kenya

Under his leadership, the company brand has expanded its retail footprint, contributing to the region’s modern consumer sector, transitioning from a local wholesale to becomeing one of Western Kenya’s biggest recognized brands and strongest supporter of the society.

Amongst his key achievements in the growth of Ouru Superstores Ltd, diversification has come in the form of investments in real estate. It was in view of this that a subsidiary, Ouru Realtors Ltd was formed mandated to oversee the operations of the real estate arm of investments. 

Mr. Mogaka holds a Bachelor of Information Science degree from Indiana State University (USA) and is a marketing professional with experience of both local and international experience gained in various establishments. His ability to identify market opportunities and execute with precision continues to define his leadership style. He has been honored by different companies for his distinguished performance. 

As a Chief Executive across multiple distribution disciplines, Mr. Mogaka consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to transform businesses and drive superior results. He is deeply passionate about customer-centric leadership, a principle that has guided his career, alongside his commitment to developing talent and driving execution with excellence.

His leadership philosophy is deeply rooted in the values instilled through social responsibility. This emanates from the desire to benefit the community and the environment that the company operates in, and through active contribution to enrich the lives of the community. In the course of time, he has spearheaded several initiatives to fulfil the company’s commitment to good corporate citizenship through: 

  1. Supporting the Education of well performing students from needy backgrounds. 
  2. Supporting agricultural growth – through the distribution of quality seeds and fertilizer. 
  3. Contributing to Orphanage homes.
