Job Title:   Fork Lift Driver.

Reports to: Operation Manager.

Job Purpose: Responsible for operating forklift to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from delivery trucks; or storage area/ warehouse facilities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Moving pallets-materials from point A to point B in the facility,
2. Offload delivery vehicles, move and place stock into shelves or pallets,
3. Load vehicle with goods from the shelves / pallets & dispatch the goods for customers,
4. Operate forklift to unload or move components for storage, staging, placement into bin locations, or stacking them in a safe manner,
5. Stock and rotate materials as necessary,
6. Maintain safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area and workstations neat,
7. Checks items for proper packaging to ensure safe transportation,
8. Inspect received material for damage and defects,
9. Conducts operations in a safe manner to ensure all work procedures and safety rules are followed, to prevent injury to all personnel and damage to equipment,
10. Report immediately any safety hazards during operations and if necessary stop until such are rectified.
11. Report immediately any damage sustained during operations by use of the Forklift. Initiate appropriate action when material received is damaged or defective,
12. Maintain the machine in a clean and tidy condition at all times and schedule the machines for maintenance and repairs,
13. Ensure Forklift has sufficient fuel at all times and adhere to refueling schedule,
14. Checking loads are secure,
15. Perform equipment’s checks and basic maintenance,
16. Following instructions and keeping records,
17. Adhere to health and safety rules and regulations,
18. Completing tasks quickly and accurately,
19. Keep track of location of goods,
20. Store the forklift back in proper space,
21. Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements.

Level of Education, Professional Qualification and Experience:

1. 1-2 years of forklift experience,
2. Forklift operation license,
3. Ability to listen to, read and follow directions,
4. Training and forklift certification,
5. Ability to lift at least 50kilograms load,
6. Organizational skills,
7. Ability to maintain safe working area,
8. Ability to work independently as well as with others,
9. Attention to detail,
10. Able to control and operate the machine,
11. Understanding of health and safety,
