Diammonium phosphate (DAP) (containing 46 percent phosphate as P2O5) – referred to as ammoniated phosphates because phosphoric acid is treated with ammonia to form this product, which also contain nitrogen. It is mainly used at planting. It enhances root development and promotes good plant growth.
This kind of ammonium phosphate compound is easily available in the soil, not easily leached hence easily taken up by the plants.
It is Universal – can be applied in all crops (Cereals, Vegetables and fruit crops). This Phosphorus form is easily available for soil, also in water deficiency conditions. With this compound formulation, excessive Potassium uptake is limited. Default application rates: 50-75kg/acre (soil testing is however recommended).
Composition: 18%N, 46% P2O5.
